AEROSOL PAINT
Prepare the Surface
Remove dirt, grease, wax, moisture, rust and loose paint.
Scuff-sand rusted, glossy or hard surfaces.
Prime bare or rusted metal with metal primer.
Protect adjacent surfaces from overspray.
Use at room temperature (70ºF) for best operation.
Application Directions
Shake can until ball within begins to rattle. Then hold at top and swing bottom in a circle for 2 minutes so that ball follows bottom groove. Also shake can up and down occasionally. After each minute of use, shake again for 10 seconds.
Spray 6 to 10 inches from surface (if too close, the paint will bubble and run. If too far away, the paint will be spotty and dry.)
To prevent wrinkling or lifting, recoat within one hour or wait seven days for thorough dry.
After Use
Clean spray valve immediately after use by turning can upside down and pressing spray button until only clear gas comes out.
If spray button becomes clogged, pull off and clean. DO NOT stick pin or wire into can opening. Replace spray button firmly with valve opening away from you.
Store cans upright to avoid blockage in the neck of the can or in the valve.
Never store cans where temperatures may exceed 120°F.
Recycle or discard empty cans. Do not burn, incinerate or place in home compactor.
Troubleshooting
Color Doesn't Match
- The can was not shaken enough.
- Your production coating may have changed. If this situation occurs submit a new color standard to Premier Aerosol for color matching.
Color Appears Flat or Hazy
- Humid conditions may exist. Use at room temperature (70ºF) for best operation.
- The surface you are spraying may be too hot. Remove the object from direct sunlight or heat; allow surface to cool and continue.
Paint Finish Appears Speckled
- Something is blocking paint flow. Rotate the tip 1/4 turn and try again.
- Remove and/or clean tip and tip stem using a toothpick.
NOTE: Never stick any object into the hole on top of the can.
- Soak spray tip in acetone to remove dried paint.
- Use spray tip from another can.
- If your finger is blocking flow, slide your finger back on tip until paint sprays smoothly.
- Can is being sprayed at an angle. Hold can upright 10-12" from the object.
Surface Appears Streaky
Vary direction of the spray pattern.
Paint Appears Saggy or Has Runs
Too much paint was applied. Apply lighter coats by increasing the speed of your hand motion as you spray. Hold can 10-12" from surface. After 3-4 passes allow paint to dry 5 minutes before continuing.
