Tips for Proper Use of Exact Match Finish:

Paint Pen
NOTE: Touch-up should be used on small nicks and scratches only. It is not meant for large areas or deep gouges.

Prepare the Surface
Make sure the surface is clean, dry and free of grease and oil.

Application Directions
Always shake the bottle for at least one minute after the mixing balls begin to rattle.

To use the pen for the first time, remove the cap and prime the tip with paint by pressing it a few times against an inconspicuous horizontal flat surface.

Press the tip against the area to be repaired. CAUTION: Pressing the tip continuously may result in too much paint being dispensed. Tip should be pressed only when additional paint is required to cover the repair area.

Apply paint with smooth strokes. Use very slight pressure when touching the pen to the substrate. Avoid retouching the wet paint film with the pen after it is applied. Do not try to retouch applied paint after paint has set up for more than 2 minutes.

When finished, recap the pen.

After Use
Let the pens warm to room temperature before using to avoid application and appearance problems.

Discard empty pens. Do not burn, incinerate or place in home compactor.

Troubleshooting

Color Doesn't Match

  • The pen was not shaken enough.
  • Your production coating may have changed. If this situation occurs submit a new color standard to Premier Aerosol for color matching.

Color Appears Flat or Hazy

  • Humid conditions may exist. Use at room temperature (70ºF) for best operation.
  • The surface you are painting may be too hot. Remove the object from direct sunlight or heat; allow surface to cool and continue.

Surface Appears Streaky
The thickness of the paint film is uneven. Apply an additional coat of paint and try to get it as smooth and uniform as possible.

Can't Achieve Proper Gloss
The paint is not glossy enough. Apply a few more coats of paint.

The Paint Is Too Glossy
Apply a thinner film.

Paint Appears Saggy or Has Runs

  • Too much paint was applied. Apply lighter coats by increasing the speed of your hand motion as you apply the paint.
  • The temperature of the paint or substrate may be too low. Allow paint and substrate to warm to room temperature.
